Accountability
Hold officials to account and fire those people who fail
As the Declaration of Independence tells us, when our leaders fail the people, the people must “provide new Guards for their future security.” This is not a partisan issue; it’s a right of the people to expect leaders to be accountable for their results or failures. Over the next 12 months, I will present a plan for southern Missouri, with tangible objectives to be accomplished by 2012. I will ask and expect to be held accountable to achieving those results.
Restore the Constitutional responsibility of Congress
Like many of you, I’m sick and tired of politics as usual and the deviation from what the founders intended. The major decisions of our nation were designed to be made by the representatives of the people, in public. Instead, they’re made behind closed doors where the voices of special-interests are heard more than our voices. It is time for a change. As a member of Congress, I will follow the Constitution not simply what is politically popular.
