2010 is an election year across Missouri, bringing a lot of political activity to the Tri-Lakes area. Today Democratic candidate for Missouri's 8th Congressional District, Tommy Sowers, spent the day in Branson and Forsyth, meeting with local officials, business owners and residents.

Sowers speaks this evening at an informal gathering at a private residence in Forsyth, part of what he calls his "Boots on the Ground" campaign...

Sowers is a veteran of the war in Iraq, and shares with Hometown Radio News that the central theme of his campaign is jobs and economic opportunities...

Sowers is running against incumbent Republican Jo Ann Emerson in the 8th District, which encompasses 28 Missouri counties including Taney.
