On Wednesday, Tommy Sowers will kick off his third “Boots on the Ground” operation. With just 28 days left to campaign, “BOTG III: The March for Main Street” will take Sowers to all 28 counties of the 8th District where he’ll be knocking on doors alongside the Sowers field team. Sowers released the following statement in conjunction with the kickoff:
“When we started this campaign over a year ago, I said that I wanted to do things differently – I wanted this to be a campaign people could believe in. And that is what Boots on the Ground is all about.
“During Boots on the Ground I and II I worked a different job in every county so that I could listen and learn firsthand the hopes, dreams and concerns of the people of Southeast Missouri. No matter whom I was working with, whether a teacher, nurse or farmer, I often heard the same concern – many of our kids can’t find jobs and they’re leaving to find work somewhere else.
“For my third Boots on the Ground operation, I’ll be knocking on doors in every county, this time sharing with voters why, if we want our kids to have jobs to come home to, if we want to stop the bailouts and if we want to end these wars, it’s time to send new blood to Congress.”

Tommy Sowers is campaigning to bring new blood and leadership to Congress, jobs and 21st century infrastructure to Missouri, and an end to the war in Afghanistan.
Tommy Sowers, a native of Rolla and an 11-year Army Special Forces veteran who served two tours in Iraq, is running for Congress against incumbent Jo Ann Emerson, a former insurance lobbyist and native of the Washington, DC beltway.
